Minimally Invasive Structural Heart (MISH) Resources
The use of innovative catheter-based technology to manage heart valvular and other structural cardiac diseases is transforming traditional patient treatment options in Ontario.
The Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care (MOHLTC), working collaboratively with clinical subject matter experts and CorHealth Ontario, has formed a structural heart working group to help inform and guide system planning for minimally invasive structural heart (MISH) procedures (e.g., Transcatheter Mitral Valve Implantation (TMVI) and Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation (TAVI)).
The role of the MISH Working Group is to provide clinical expertise to the MOHLTC to support the planning, diffusion and monitor outcomes of these new and innovative technologies.
Updates and key documents developed by the MISH Working Group can be found below. For questions about their work, contact us at oh-corh_service@ontariohealth.ca.
