Lower-Limb Preservation Strategy (LLPS) Update
Since the first meeting of the Lower-Limb Preservation Strategy (LLPS) Advisory Committee, led by Dr. Ahmed Kayssi, Vascular Surgeon and Wound Care Physician, Sunnybrook Hospital, on February 28, 2020, during which the strategy scope and deliverables were validated, the CorHealth team has been busy developing FY 2020/21 workplans for each of the following deliverables:
-
Lower-limb preservation care delivery framework
The Framework will outline the patient care pathway(s), clinical care standards and model of care delivery, rooted in existing guidelines and best practice, to articulate a standard approach to lower-limb preservation patient care. It will also include tools and resources (toolkits) for patients and providers as well as recommendations for indicators to measure the impact of framework adoption and implementation. -
Measurement and reporting recommendations
Recommendations will describe a reporting plan and prioritized outcome, process and structure indicators for local and system measurement and monitoring of the quality of lower-limb preservation care being delivered in Ontario. -
Funding policy recommendations
Recommendations will describe prioritized opportunities to support equitable delivery of best-practice care through alignment with funding policy.
Leaders from the LLPS Advisory Committee have been identified to champion each of the workstreams. Committee members as well as patient’s with lived experience and family advisors will be engaged through the summer and fall to provide expertise to guide and support this work. Stay tuned for exciting updates throughout the year.
