CANADIAN CARDIOVASCULAR SOCIETY’S QUALITY PROJECT
The Canadian Cardiovascular Society (CCS) Quality Project is a national initiative designed to make recommendations on the ongoing measurement, evaluation and management of the quality of cardiovascular care in Canada, and create a suite of national Cardiac Quality Indicators (QIs) to support this strategy.
The annual Canadian Cardiovascular Congress (CCC) serves as an opportunity for each of the Quality Project’s sub-working groups, each of which have CorHealth representation, to review their past and upcoming year workplans and present their progress to the larger CCC community. Updates of work done on the Quality Project in 2019 include:
- The Cardiac Surgery QI Working Group and the PCI QI Working Group, both in collaboration with the Canadian Institute for Health Information (CIHI) released their annual Cardiac Care Quality Indicator (CCQI) report
- The Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation (TAVI) QI Working Group released their 2019 National TAVI Quality Report
- The Heart Failure QI Working Group is, in collaboration with the Canadian Institute for Health Information (CIHI), preparing its first ever quality report
